Summer Job at Sensmet
Sensmet had a pleasure to have a helping pair of hands over the summertime. Petra Haapaniemi worked at Sensmet as an R&D Assistant from June until the end of August. After spending the summer at Sensmet, Haapaniemi started her studies in process and environmental technology at the University of Oulu. She plans to graduate in 2026.
Petra has previous working experience from a kindergarten and a grocery store, so it was a refreshing change to have a unique summer job.
“If there is an opportunity, I would love to work at Sensmet in the future also. The working environment was not too serious and there was a lot to learn. I was able to work on more challenging tasks that are related to my future studies,” Petra explains.
Petra is a social butterfly who enjoys new challenges in everyday life, but also in personal life. Her free time she mostly spends with her friends and family, at a gym or by baking. Haapaniemi also enjoys travelling, Netflix and sports - especially ball games.
“I don’t know what my exact dream job is, but I hope it is some responsible position in production or technology. It could be also a role in the field of trade, who knows!” Petra tips.
