September 15, 2020R&D project targets new level of digital process monitoring and control in metallurgical industry
Sensmet has become a part of AMET research consortium to develop new process monitoring and control solutions for the metallurgical industry. The project develops industrial scale process monitoring and expert systems for selected processes in steel making. The solutions to be developed are not limited to the production of steel, but are applicable to a wider range of metallurgical and industrial processes. Platform-based monitoring and control solutions employing artificial intelligence (AI) significantly add the value that SMEs can bring to the end users.
In the AMET project Sensmet develops its new µDOES® real-time water analyser to enable the optimisation of steel industry's production processes.
The project brings together SMEs, research organisations and industrial end users. The AMET partners are Sensmet Oy, SSAB Europe Oy, Ovako Imatra Oy, Sapotech Oy, Kaltio Technologies Oy, Luxmet Oy, Quva Oy, University of Oulu and Åbo Akademi. The AMET project is funded by Business Finland and by the project partners and its budget totals nearly 6 million euros.
